Edible fungi contribute to the SDGs

Our planet is facing many environmental, social, and economic issues. In 2015, the United Nations adopted 17 goals aimed at meeting these challenges. One way we can contribute to these goals is by eating edible fungi. Fungi include everything from the mushroom to the spiderweb-like network that grows underground.
For example, picking and selling edible wild mushrooms benefits communities that live near forests. They also contribute to industry, innovation, and infrastructure as their mass-production creates jobs.
